Open Water

The Open Water Diver program is the first step to the underwater world and at ProTec the Team have made it our goal to teach this program thoroughly as your first steps are the hardest but most important ones. For this reason we do not believe in 3 day beginner courses, we believe that skills should not be trained and practised as a fast routine, but slowly and in depth, repeated by the students so they feel more secure and confident after the course.

We train many other skills which are not trained by other sport diving organization and our Open Water Diver course is designed for people who want to learn how to dive properly and want to be able to be at one with the water at the end of the course.

Prerequisites:

Must be a minimum of 12 years of age with a parent or guardian authorization

Program Content:

Theory lectures
Landexercices
Pool- and open water training
Final examination (minimum of 80%)

Duration:

Minimum of 6 days (in combination with the EANx diver 7 days)
8 hours of theory lectures
8 dives
4 trainingdives in confined water

Limits:

Open Water Dive 1 and 2 between 6m - 9m
Maximum depth of 21m
No decompression, simulated decompression dive
Maximum ascension speed of 9m per minutes
Maximum of 8 students per instructor
